Social Media Intern

Restoring God's Family Network is looking for a driven Social Media Intern with a basic understanding of public relations methodology who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under the supervision of our staff, the Social Media Intern can expect to participate in the preparation of continual content.

​

You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking. To be a strong candidate for the Internship, you should possess a positive attitude. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn. This is a part-time/remote.

​

We're looking for around 15-20 a month, which you can fit in according to your class schedule. Ideally, you'd be in the office a couple of times a month, then helping out at an event one night or weekend morning per month.

The ideal person for this post has:

  • Previous experience of growing a social media presence for an organization

  • Experience with photo/video content editing, design, and copy writing

  • Friendly, outgoing personality and the ability to quickly connect with our customers

  • Their finger on the pulse for current social media trends

  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings

Only candidates that are current students, located in the Austin area will be considered.

- marketing and communication strategizing

- blog writing

- fundraising

Experience:

  • Required Education, Experience & Competencies: 

  • 18+ years old.

  • Current college student in Communication, Film, PR, Project Management, Business schools preferred but not necessary.

  • School credit intern programs accepted, but not required. * Should be capable of preparing files and maintaining records and documentation.

  • Should have good written and oral communication skills

  • Other skills required are related to problem solving, entering and verifying data, and knowledge of computers, various software applications and standard office equipment.

  • Brainstorm and attend meetings to assist with strategy and provide creative ideas

  • Create, post, and track posts across various social media platforms.

  • Develop and foster an engaging atmosphere through channel monitoring, user interaction, and listening to our social media audiences, engaging as appropriate.

  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of the social content calendar, with posts drafted and scheduled for future publication dates

  • Research industry best practices and techniques to continuously look for new ways to improve our social media efforts.

  • Assist with the implementation and creative brainstorming for PR

  • Monitor and track performance of posts, assist with weekly preparation of reports, analysis, and share data as directed.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned
